Trainingsgruppen E-mail

Beginners
Our youngest group practices once a week for 1.5 hours in Neuhof or in Bleidenstadt. The minimum age is 5 years and the minimal body height 100 cm. Everyone is welcome to try wheel gymnastics any time. In this group we teach the basics of straight line as well as general gymnastics and fitness skills.

Advanced (L5)
Kids are placed into this group as soon as they are able to do the L5, which is the basic routine kids under 12 years have to show in a competition. Training focuses on basic and advanced elements in straight line. The group meets once or twice a week for 1.5 hours in Neuhof or Bleidenstadt and includes around 15 kids and 3 trainers. Besides the straight line training, the kids start to learn the basic moves of spiral and vault.

 “Oldies“ Neuhof
Initially formed by parents of gym-wheel kids, this group is ideal for all adults who always wanted to try out wheel gymnastics but didn’t know where. The group practices once a week for two hours in Neuhof, and members mainly train straight line and a little bit of spiral. Apart from the weekly training, the group participates on a regular basis in festivals and gymnastics events, where the community of “Oldies” is surprisingly big.

Juniors I (L8)
This group, which exists in Neuhof and Bleidenstadt, consists of around 8 kids in each group. In contrast to the advanced group, the training is achievement oriented and prepares the kids for competitions on the national level. The kids in this group have been doing the gym wheel usually for 3-5 years already. Training takes place three times a week. Focus is set on highly difficult straight line moves, spiral and vault training. Members of the Junior I group can qualify for the provincial squad (D-Kader), which means additional encouragement for the kids.

Juniors II (L9)
Members of the Junior II team (15-18 years) train 3-4 times a week to prepare for provincial-, southern German-, and National Championships. Successful participation at National Championships offers the chance of becoming part of the national junior squad for gym wheel or even to compete in the World Championships. Members of the Junior II team are usually part of the show team. Training focuses on the individual strengths of the athletes and on the acquisition of highly advanced moves in all disciplines. It also prepares for the music routine in straight line, which his required in the adult class (L10).

Adults (L10)
This class is the highest class of wheel gymnastics and consists of former Junior II gymnasts. The group trains 3-4 times a week and most members also work as trainers for the other groups. In contrast to the other classes, L10 requires straight line routine with music, as well as higher difficulties in spiral and vault. Training involves not only gym-wheel training, but also special practice units for e.g., trampoline, dancing, or artistic gymnastics.
