Provincial Championships 2009 E-mail

Taunusstein’s athletes present themselves in good form and well prepared for the season.

The Hessian Championships in the snow-covered Gersfeld confirmed once again the excellent training effort of the Gymnastics Clubs Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt and Taunusstein-Neuhof during off-season.
In the men's class, Alexander Wolf (Bleidenstadt) came first in front of his team-colleague Stefan Serth (Bleidenstadt). Julia Pohling (Neuhof) used the competition as further preparation for the World Cup in May and dominated the women's class. Christiane Sproß (Bleidenstadt) was also very pleased with her performance and finished second.

In her first competition in the female junior class (15-18 years), Sarah Metz (Neuhof) showed several new technical skills and in spite of some small mistakes she won Gold in the end. Likewise, Giulia Seifert (Neuhof) was rewarded for a convincing straight-line routine with an excellent fourth place. With just a few tenth of a point behind, Laura Kaiser (Bleidenstadt) came 6th. With Stella Bott (Bleidenstadt) finishing 9th, 4 juniors from Taunusstein qualified for the Southern German Championships which will take place in late April in Schwaigern (Bavaria). Jana Liese (Neuhof) had bad luck in the very first discipline, spiral, and lost several points. Even though she showed very nice straight-line exercises afterwards, in the end there were a few points missing for the qualification. She will have another chance at the Bavarian championships next weekend. The new provincial Champion in the male junior class is Daniel Sternberger (Bleidenstadt) who is also newcomer in his class.

In the girls competition (12-15 years) Hannah Leon (Neuhof) earned the title of vice champion in front of her team colleagues Kyra Voll, and Katharina Albert. Also qualified for the Southern German Championships in the girls class are Jasmin Schönbach (7th, Bleidenstadt), Lynn Meusel (8th, Neuhof), and the youngest participants Anna Eiser (9th, Neuhof) and Luna Fiedler (11th, Neuhof). Kassandra Kopper didn't make the qualification this year and Gila Kopper, Luana Büger, and Kira Weise could not compete due to injuries. Marvin Homeyer won the boys class.
